Education
Education is at the heart of everything we do. We believe every learner deserves to be challenged, supported, and held to high expectations. Through intergenerational learning, place-based history, oral history, civic engagement, and leadership development, we equip young people and lifelong learners with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to become informed citizens and compassionate leaders. Our programs encourage participants to ask thoughtful questions, examine evidence, build meaningful relationships, and recognize their capacity to shape the future of their communities.
How We Teach
Inquiry Based Learning
Students learn by asking meaningful questions, examining evidence, and exploring primary sources. Rather than memorizing history, they learn how to investigate it.
Leadership Through Learning
Leadership grows through practice. Students facilitate discussions, conduct research, teach peers, and discover that their voices can make a difference.
Cultural Resource Exploration
We search the land and historic places for hidden clues to the past, from the fingerprints of enslaved builders to traces of lives and stories often left out of the historical record.
Learning In Community
Learning is strengthened through collaboration. Students, educators, families, and community partners learn with one another while building stronger communities
