About Our Series
History, Race, & A Way Forward is a Community Read & Conversation Series at Chapel Hill Public Library, designed to explore the intersection of history, race, and education. Through thought-provoking discussions, expert-led sessions, and community engagement, this series fosters a deeper understanding of the historical and systemic factors shaping education today.
What We’re Reading
Participants will engage with selected readings that examine education as a human right. Copies of the books are available for purchase at Flyleaf Books in Chapel Hill, with an option to purchase an additional copy for donation. A limited number of free copies are also available for those in need.

Each session includes discussions led by scholars, educators, and advocates for racial and educational justice, including:
